Superhero of Kindness mission is to care; let kindness flow without regard of reward. The Superheroes of Kindness Project also believes that no one, no matter how young or how small, is too small to make a difference in their community and their world. Giving children a chance to practice kindness through being “superheroes” themselves, helps them develop those important, life-long social-emotional skills,
For younger children make it fun with a dressing up element by – let their imagination blossom with some easy simple crafting being kindness superheroes performing an act of kindness! A cape has been a child’s dress-up staple item for decades.
MASK, CUFFS & CAPE OF KINDNESS
These superhero t-shirt capes are genius. You can make them in minutes out of old tops and there’s no sewing. You will need a T-shirt – brightly coloured or black, Scissors, Velcro dots, Felt, Strong glue (a glue gun or fabric glue). Steps by step to the no-sew cape

Superhero Masks
Firstly, choose your either colour version or pre-coloured version and print them onto the lightweight card. After you colour the masks, cut them out and create the “eye area” and small holes on each side of the mask for the string. If the mask doesn’t fit perfectly, you can enlarge or reduce the size of the eyes if you need to. Download mask templates
Superhero Cuffs
Cut the toilet rolls lengthwise on one side. So that there is a kind of opening.
Let the kids choose which superhero they want to be and then choose the paint colours for the rolls. Print the superhero logos in colour. And cut it out. Download superhero logos here, Glue the logos on the painted toilet rolls & you’re done.
ACTS OF KINDNESS

ACT 1, CELEBRATING KINDNESS, HAPPY HEART HUNT
Let’s blanket our world with LOVE! It’s simple! Just make a heart from any object and tape it to a street-facing window to send your love out to the world. Encourage all your friends to do the same. Then, in a few days, take a family walk (keeping 6 feet distance from others!) to search for other hearts on houses. How fun it will be to watch love grow!
ACT2, SHOWING YOU CARE. KINDNESS IN THE MAIL
With email, text, Skype, and FaceTime, people rarely receive anything other than flyers and bills in the mail. This is a great craft to encourage kids to connect to loved ones who live far away, to send them kind thoughts, and to foster positive good feelings towards others.
ACT 3, HELPING OTHERS, CHILDREN FOR CHARITY
Teach your children the importance of charity work. Help build a foundation of charitable giving for your children and show them that their actions, no matter how small, can make a real difference.
Let them choose their causes. They’re more likely to want to support a cause that they know about and identify with. Be sensitive to their age and introduce causes that match their interests. Children’s hospitals where they can donate old toys or local farms and where in time they will be playing with the animals and donate money often work well for children.
You can also use CAF’s Charity Search to help find a charity that is local to you and matches their chosen cause. CAF allows you to search for any charity online and make a donation straight from their site.

ACT 4, CREATE A KINDER SOCIETY, CHILDREN TAKE ACTION TOGETHER
Tapori is a worldwide network of children whose motto is: “We want all children to have the same chances” is asking children to come together during the global pandemic by creating Messenger Birds with messages of solidarity to each other from around the world. It’s for all children, from whatever background, to share their hopes for the future as they find their lives so changed by the pandemic.
UK’s End Child Poverty will collate all the images of birds and messages that are received to send to our decision-makers so that they know what is important to children when making decisions about our country’s recovery from Covid-19.

ACT 5, HONOUR NATURE AND THE ENVIRONMENT, THE BEE CAUSE
Britain’s bees are in trouble. 35 UK bees species are under threat of extinction, and all species face serious threats. Right now, they need us almost as much as we need them.
The decline in bees’ diversity and abundance would have a serious impact on how our natural world functions. This includes our food crops. Bees pollinate much of the food that makes our diets healthy and tasty – from the apple in our lunchbox, to the tomatoes on our pizza.
Launched in 2012 to reverse bee decline in the UK, great work has been done. But bees aren’t safe yet –

For younger children
Your child’s mental health is more important than ever right now and there are so many great resources out there to help keep them mindful. We’ve rounded up the best of them that you can access for free, including a brand new exciting collaboration between Headspace and Sesame Street.

In this great video from the geniuses at TED, mindfulness expert Andy Puddicombe explains the huge benefits of meditation and mindfulness practices and how to fit it all into everyday life. This would be a great Ted Talk to watch with your teen to introduce mindful exercise and show them a first-hand account of how beneficial it can be.

ACT 7, SHOW GRATITUDE, DELIVER THANKS TO THOSE THAT DELIVER
Delivery drivers are working extra hard to ensure we have the products we need during this COVID-19 social distancing. Let’s thank them with a selection of goodies like a chocolate bar, a soft drink, a cake a soft drink or a savoury snack, wrap up as few or as many as you like, attach a note that says thank you for the hard work they are putting to makes sure the country has what it need. Whatever you give, just do it with LOVE!
